We have more microbes than human cells in our bodies. They love us, and we love them - the human microbiome tells us why. Microbes consist of bacteria, fungi and viruses. They live not only – everywhere – but, on us, as well as in us, and make up a huge portion of what we think of as our bodies. There are 100 times more cells from microbes in, and on, our bodies than human cells.

According to a recent U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) publication antibiotic resistant bacteria has been discovered in food – raw squid - for the first time. This could pose a risk for humans if infected through cross-contamination or consumption of incorrectly prepared contaminated food.
This inconsolable baby rhino was found next to his slaughtered mother crying and alone after poachers had murdered her for her horn in South Africa. Rescuers from Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre went to work to sweep this little guy, Gertjie, to safety. He’s been afraid to sleep alone ever since.
